Everton defender Leighton Baines insists that the club will cope with the departure of manager David Moyes.

Everton defender Leighton Baines has insisted that the club will move on following the departure of manager David Moyes.

Moyes will officially end his 11-year association with the Toffees on July 1 to take over from Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

"It will be so strange the day we walk through the door and he's not there, but football clubs live on and we'll live on, we'll move on," Baines told the club's official website.

"We'll always remember what he did for the club and where he's put us, but it's up to the rest of us, the people who remain and the people who come in, to take it forward now and build on the foundations he's worked hard to put in."

Baines has been linked with following Moyes to Premier League champions United this summer.
