Manchester United are not currently considering offering Cristiano Ronaldo a coaching role at Old Trafford, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly not currently considering offering Cristiano Ronaldo a coaching role at the club once he retires from professional football.

The Portugal international returned to Old Trafford over the summer, penning a two-year contract at Old Trafford with the option of a third, and the attacker is allegedly keen to play until he is 40.

However, Ronaldo is already thought to be considering his future, and a recent report claimed that the 36-year-old wants to spend the rest of his playing days at Man United before progressing into coaching at the club.

According to the Daily Star, the 20-time English champions currently have no plans to offer the forward a staff position at Old Trafford.

The report claims that Man United believe that Ronaldo could play into his 40s and could even decide to offer him an extension to his current deal.

The former Sporting Lisbon has been in impressive form for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side this season, finding the back of the net on nine occasions in 11 appearances in all competitions.
