Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has suggested that he can form a solid relationship with new signing Fred when the pair link up next season.
The Red Devils finally got a deal over the line for the 25-year-old last week for a rumoured £52m fee, adding to their midfield options for 2018-19 and beyond.
Fred is expected to slot in alongside Matic, rather than replace him, and the latter is looking forward to building up a rapport with his new teammate at Old Trafford.
Speaking to reporters after Serbia's meeting with Brazil in the World Cup group stage, Matic said: "I spoke to him after the game; he is a great player. He will bring quality to our team. We will see. I think we'll understand each other very well."
Matic exchanged shirts with Fred after the match in Moscow, which Brazil won 2-0 on Wednesday night.
