Sports Mole looks at Marcus Rashford's record against Chelsea ahead of Manchester United's trip to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

Marcus Rashford will be aiming to help Manchester United pick up a positive result when the Red Devils head to Chelsea in the Premier League on Thursday night.

The 26-year-old has found it difficult to show his best form this season, only managing eight goals and six assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.

Rashford was substituted late on against Brentford in the league on Saturday, having struggled to make his mark, but the England international has scored in three of his last four appearances in all competitions.

Erik ten Hag's side need a positive result on Thursday to boost their Champions League hopes, as they sit nine points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League table, albeit with a game in hand.

With that in mind, Sports Mole takes a look at how Rashford has performed against Chelsea during his professional career.

The Red Devils academy product has tackled Chelsea 18 times in all competitions at senior level, boasting a record of six wins, seven draws and five defeats, scoring six goals and registering three assists.

As expected, the bulk of those matches (13) have taken place in the Premier League, with Rashford's record standing at four wins, seven draws and two defeats, scoring four goals and providing two assists.

Rashford has also faced the Blues four times in the FA Cup, losing three of those encounters, including in the semi-finals of the competition in 2019-20.

However, the forward scored twice in a 2-1 success for the Red Devils against the capital side in the fourth round of the EFL Cup during the 2019-20 campaign.

Rashford's first-ever Premier League goal against Chelsea came in a 2-0 success for Man United at Old Trafford in the latter stages of the 2016-17 campaign.

Arguably, his best display against the Blues in England's top flight came on the opening weekend of the 2019-20 campaign, as he netted twice in a 4-0 success for the hosts.

Rashford also scored in a 4-1 win for Man United at home last season, but he was only a late substitute in his side's 2-1 success over Mauricio Pochettino's team in Manchester earlier this term.

All four of his league goals against Chelsea have come at Old Trafford, so he will be bidding to create some personal history on Thursday night.

Rashford has not been on the losing side against the Blues in the league since 2017, meanwhile, which is a record that should hand him confidence heading into the contest.
