Chelsea could sign Aurelien Tchouameni during the January transfer window before loaning him back to Monaco for the rest of the season, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly looking to sign Aurelien Tchouameni during the January transfer window before loaning him back to Monaco for the remainder of the 2021-22 campaign.

The 21-year-old has been in impressive form at club level this term, contributing two goals in 20 appearances in all competitions, while he has been a regular for France since debuting in September.

A number of leading European clubs, including Manchester United and Liverpool, are believed to be interested in signing the central midfielder next year.

However, according to TEAMtalk, Chelsea are stepping up their pursuit of the Frenchman and could tempt Monaco into a sale by offering to let him stay on loan at the Ligue 1 club for the rest of the season.

The report claims that Tchouameni is keen on making the move to Stamford Bridge but is also aware of the growing interest in his services, with AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus all believed to be keen.

The midfielder, who started his career with Bordeaux, still has three years left to run on his contract with Monaco, placing the Ligue 1 outfit in a strong negotiating position.
