Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United are all reportedly keen on signing Porto winger Wenderson Galeno during the summer transfer window.

Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Porto winger Wenderson Galeno during the summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed a productive season for the Portuguese giants in the Primeira Liga, netting five goals and providing five assists in 22 appearances.

During Porto's 5-0 thrashing of rivals Benfica on March 3, Galeno bagged a brace and secured an assist as his side continued to fight for a top-two standing.

Sergio Conceicao's men are currently occupying third position in the Primeira Liga standings, however last weekend's emphatic success has cut the gap to second place to just six points.

According to Fichajes, Manchester United and Liverpool are keen on securing the services of Galeno ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

The report claims that both the Red Devils and the Reds watched on as the Brazilian provided three goal contributions in the handsome victory over Benfica last time out.

Those two Premier League clubs are not alone in their fondness of the winger, though, as it is said that Newcastle United have taken a serious interest in the player.

It is believed that Eddie Howe's Magpies have been monitoring the progress of Galeno over the course of the 2023-24 campaign, with a view to luring him to St James' Park in the summer.

Any potential suitors will be unable to secure the signature of the 26-year-old on the cheap however, with the midfielder having a €60m (£51.2m) release clause in his current deal at Estadio Do Dragao.

Porto have become accustomed to staving off interest in Galeno over recent years, rejecting an offer of €30m (£25.6m) for the Brazilian in the past.

As well as the Red Devils, the Reds and the Magpies, it is understood that a number of other elite European clubs are taking note of the former Portimonense player's performances.

Since returning from Braga to Porto in January 2022, Galeno has netted an impressive total of 28 goals in 105 appearances across all competitions.

After producing a Man-of-the-Match display against Benfica last time out, Galeno will be looking to be the main man once again when Conceicao's charges travel to Portimonense on Friday night.
