Sunderland are one of a number of clubs who have made contact with Nigerian international Michael Babatunde regarding a summer move, according to the player's agent.
The 21-year-old made two appearances for Nigeria in the World Cup in Brazil before his tournament came to an end when he fractured his wrist against Argentina.
Babatunde, who currently plays in Ukraine for Volyn Lutsk, is said to be eager to play his football in the Premier league.
The winger netted one goal in 12 appearances for Volyn Lutsk following his arrival last year.
