Carla Suarez Navarro has reached the Miami Open women's final after seeing off Andrea Petkovic 6-3 6-3 on Thursday afternoon.
The 12th-seeded Spaniard broke early on to take control of proceedings in their semi-final, before breaking again courtesy of her opponent's overhit forehand to seal the set.
Suarez Navarro then broke again in the second set to secure a 4-2 lead from which Petkovic could not recover, the German blasting her final shot wide to send her opponent through to the final.
The 26-year-old will meet either top-seeded Serena Williams or third-seeded Simona Halep on Saturday.
