Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has stunned Novak Djokovic this evening by beating the world number one in straight sets to move into the quarter-finals of the Rogers Cup.
The two-time winner of the tournament went down 6-2 6-2 as the Frenchman pulled off the shock of the competition thus far.
Tsonga broke his Serbian counterpart twice en route to a commanding 5-2 lead in the opening set, before the 13th seed held serve to claim a big advantage in the best-of-three clash.
The second set followed suit and Tsonga inflicted two breaks of serve in the opening three games to move into a comfortable four-game lead.
The deficit proved too much of a task for Djokovic as the 27-year-old became a third-round casualty.
