Deadline day key events
'Offer submitted' - Fresh 'twist' in Garnacho saga with Napoli, Chelsea 'in the hunt'
Napoli have reportedly increased their offer for Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho to €55m (£46.5m).
There is currently a host of speculation surrounding the Argentina international's future, with Man United open to selling him for a high price during the January transfer window for financial reasons.
Napoli have now sold Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain, and it is understood that Garnacho is their number one target to replace the forward, who had also been linked with Liverpool.
Antonio Conte's side are said to have failed with a €47m (£40m) offer for Garnacho towards the end of last week, with Man United holding firm on their valuation, which is believed to be €70m (£59m).
Down to two: European giants 'going head-to-head' for Rashford
Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly in a two-way fight for Marcus Rashford, with AC Milan said to have pulled out of the race for the Manchester United attacker at a late stage of negotiations.
The 27-year-old has not featured for the Red Devils for over a month, as he is out of favour under head coach Ruben Amorim, who has brought a new standard of behaviour to Old Trafford.
Poor performances in training played a major role in Rashford initially being left out for the Manchester derby, and he has continued to be overlooked, with Amorim planning for life without the academy product.
A permanent departure this month is seen as highly unlikely due to the fact that Man United are thought to want in the region of £40m, while he collects a wage of in excess of £315,000 a week.
Major blow for Amorim as 'top target' prepares to 'sign new deal' at current club
Nuno Mendes is reportedly set to remain with Paris Saint-Germain, with a new contract expected to be signed in the near future.
There has been a host of speculation surrounding the Portugal international's future in recent weeks, with Manchester United believed to have identified the left-back as a leading transfer target.
Mendes played under Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim at Sporting Lisbon, and it had been claimed that the 22-year-old was the English club's first choice for the left-sided wing-back position in a 3-4-3 formation.
However, according to L'Equipe, the situation has now changed, with Mendes closing the door on an exit, and it is understood that he could sign a new contract with the capital giants in the near future.
Man United handed boost as Napoli make Alejandro Garnacho decision?
Napoli have decided to shift their focus elsewhere after a failed bid for Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho, according to a report.
The Argentine international joined the Red Devils from Atletico Madrid's academy at the age of 16 and made his senior debut less than two years later.
Garnacho was a regular starter under former United boss Erik ten Hag, featuring in 36 Premier League games last season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.
However, the 20-year-old attacker has had a mixed role under his new manager Ruben Amorim, with questions being raised about whether he fits into the coach's system.
Man United defender to depart Old Trafford this month?
Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia is poised to leave Old Trafford on loan during the January transfer window, according to a report.
The Red Devils splashed out £13m in the summer of 2022 to sign Malacia from Feyenoord as a potential replacement for Luke Shaw, who has struggled to remain fit over the last few seasons.
However, despite being considered one of Europe's brightest young full-backs during his time in Rotterdam, Malacia has largely struggled to make a significant impact at Old Trafford.
Last season, the 25-year-old spent the entire campaign on the sidelines nursing an injury before returning to the first team in November, but he has failed to lock down his spot with Diogo Dalot regularly being given the nod at left-back by Ruben Amorim.
Farewell Frankfurt: Marmoush Man City medical date, transfer fee 'revealed'
Manchester City are edging closer to completing the signing of attacker Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt, according to a report.
Marmoush was left out of the Frankfurt squad that beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the Bundesliga on Friday, before the Egyptian made his way onto the pitch to wave goodbye the club's supporters at Deutsche Bank Park.
Frankfurt confirmed shortly before kickoff that the 25-year-old was omitted from Dino Toppmoller's squad because they are "currently in talks with another club" regarding his transfer away from the Eagles.
It was reported a day earlier that Man City have reached a verbal agreement with Frankfurt to sign Marmoush, who is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.
Let the battle commence: Amorim 'determined to beat' Mikel to striker signing
Manchester United are reportedly hopeful of winning the race to sign Sporting Lisbon centre-forward Viktor Gyokeres during this summer's transfer window.
The 26-year-old has been in excellent form for Sporting during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 32 goals and registering six assists in 30 appearances in all competitions, including 21 goals in 17 league outings.
Gyokeres has also managed five goals in six appearances in the league phase of the Champions League, and he is one of the most in-demand forwards in European football, with Arsenal also believed to be interested.
It has recently been claimed that Arsenal are planning a January move for Gyokeres, with the Gunners determined to address their attacking problems before the end of the winter window.
Ex-Barcelona star rules out Ansu Fati move
Como boss Cesc Fabregas has ruled out a winter move for Barcelona forward Ansu Fati.
The Italian side have been active in the transfer window recruiting Maxence Caqueret, Assane Diao and Jean Butez.
Como continued to be linked with further additions, with Mundo Deportivo reporting that Fabregas could look towards his former club Barcelona to reinforce his squad for a Serie A survival fight.
The report claims that Como could look to sign defender Eric Garcia and forward Fati before the transfer deadline next month.
Arsenal weighing up move for £70m-rated striker?
Arsenal are reportedly considering whether to make an offer to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko before the transfer deadline.
The Gunners are currently short of striker options after Gabriel Jesus suffered a serious injury in last Sunday's FA Cup defeat to Man United.
Jesus sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the first half and is now expected to miss the rest of the season.
As a result, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been left with Kai Havertz as the only fit centre-forward option in the senior squad.
Man United enter race for Bundesliga star?
Manchester United have reportedly entered the race to sign Borussia Dortmund attacker Jamie Gittens.
The 20-year-old has been one of the standout players in an underperforming Dortmund team this season, having scored 11 goals and contributed five assists in 26 competitive appearances.
Gittens has scored five of those goals in his last eight league matches, including strikes in recent defeats to Bayer Leverkusen and Holstein Kiel.
As a result of his fine form, Gittens has been linked with a move away despite being under contract until the summer of 2028.
Latest January transfer news and rumours including Garcia to Villa
Aston Villa are reportedly close to completing the signing of right-back Andres Garcia from Levante.
The 21-year-old came through the youth system at Levante and has represented the club's first team on 50 occasions, scoring four goals and registering six assists in the process, including 47 outings in Spain's second tier.
According to the Birmingham Mail, Villa are closing in on a £6m move for the defender, who has caught the attention of a number of clubs with his excellent performances, particularly this season.
The report claims that Real Betis and Sevilla are keen to bring him to the top flight of Spanish football, but Villa have allegedly won the race, with a medical already believed to have booked in.
Rangers announce signing of "exciting young talent" from Ligue 1
Rangers have announced the signing of defender Rafael Fernandes on loan from Ligue 1 club Lille, subject to international clearance.
The 22-year-old centre-back joins the Glaswegian giants for the remainder of the season, and there is an option for the deal to be made permanent in the summer.
Fernandes, who will wear the No.28 at Ibrox, is hoping to get his career back on track after a frustrating 12-month spell with French side Lille.
The Portugal Under-20 international came through the youth ranks at Sporting Lisbon before moving to Primeira Liga side Arouca in 2022.
"Club-record sale": Championship star becomes Crystal Palace's first January signing
Crystal Palace have completed the signing of teenager Romain Esse from Championship club Millwall.
The 19-year-old has become the Eagles' first signing of the January transfer window after putting pen to paper on a five-and-a-half-year contract, keeping him at Selhurst Park until 2030.
Esse makes the moves up to the Premier League after two years starring in the senior team for Millwall, where he began his career at the age of nine and progressed his way through the club's youth ranks before making his first-team debut as a 17-year-old on Boxing Day in 2022.
The versatile winger, widely regarded as one of the brighest prospects in the Championship, leaves The Den having made a total of 66 senior appearances for the Lions in all competitions, chipping in with seven goals, including five this season.
Newcastle set Kelly asking price? Transfer news and rumours today
Newcastle United have slapped a significant £20m asking price on Fenerbahce-linked defender Lloyd Kelly.
Earlier this week, Fenerbahce vice-president Acun Ilicali confirmed the club's interest in signing the former Bournemouth man.
Ilicali told reporters: "We are in talks for Lloyd Kelly transfer. He's a player we're interested in. If we can reach an agreement we will transfer this player."
As per The Athletic, Newcastle have already rejected an £11m transfer offer for the 26-year-old, who is under contract until the summer of 2029.
Clock is ticking: Man United's Rashford 'issued transfer ultimatum' by European giant
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford reportedly has until Monday to decide whether he wants to join AC Milan.
The 27-year-old is again expected to be left out of the Man United squad against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, as he prepares to complete a loan move away from the club during the January transfer window.
Milan continue to be heavily linked with the Englishman, with discussions over a switch to San Siro continuing last week, but Barcelona are also believed to be firmly in the hunt for his signature.
Barcelona are thought to be Rashford's 'dream club' this month, although the Catalan outfit will have to move players on over the next couple of weeks to stand a chance of completing a loan deal for the Man United academy product.
From Old Trafford to Stamford Bridge? Chelsea 'eye shock move' for Man United attacker
Chelsea have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho during the January transfer window, but Napoli are still thought to be the favourites for the Argentina international.
There is currently widespread speculation surrounding Garnacho's future, with Man United said to be willing to let the 20-year-old leave for the right price due to the financial restrictions in place.
Napoli have now confirmed the sale of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain, and it is understood that Garnacho is the Italian club's number one replacement, with the funds now in place to potentially complete a deal.
Man United are believed to have rejected a £40m offer for the attacker towards the end of last week, but Antonio Conte's team are said to be lining up an improved offer for Garnacho, with the player said to be open to a switch.
