Report: Manchester United won't sell Danny Welbeck to Arsenal

Manchester United will not sell Danny Welbeck to Arsenal after the Gunners refused to do business with them over Thomas Vermaelen earlier this summer, a report claims.

Manchester United will apparently rebuff any approach that Arsenal make for Danny Welbeck after the Gunners refused to do business with them earlier this summer.

The England international forward has allegedly been told that he can leave Old Trafford by Louis van Gaal, prompting interest from several top-flight clubs.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be considering an offer for the 23-year-old after learning that leading striker Olivier Giroud could miss three months of the season with a broken ankle.

However, the Red Devils are reluctant to sell to the Emirates Stadium outfit after they played hardball over former United target Thomas Vermaelen, who eventually joined Barcelona, according to the Daily Mail.

Tottenham Hotspur are also thought to be monitoring Welbeck as they seek attacking reinforcements.
