Cruzeiro playmaker Giorgian De Arrascaeta is reportedly being eyed up by Newcastle United and Celtic as he ponders a first move to European football.
The 24-year-old has spent his entire career to date in South America with Defensor Sporting and Cruzeiro, joining the latter three years ago.
De Arrascaeta has seen his stock rise over the past month, however, having featured in two of Uruguay's matches at this summer's World Cup on their run to the quarter-finals.
According to The Sun, De Arrascaeta is now ready to try his luck on a different continent and Brazilian side Cruzeiro are resigned to losing him.
Newcastle are said to be weighing up a move as Rafael Benitez is desperate to bring in an attacking midfielder, although both the Magpies and Celtic may struggle to match the player's £18m valuation.
