Javier Hernandez has said that his late winner in Real Madrid's dramatic Champions League win over Atletico Madrid tonight was undoubtedly the most important goal of his career.
Hernandez was the hero as he tapped home Cristiano Ronaldo's pass on 88 minutes to seal the Blancos' place in the semi-finals with a 1-0 win at the Bernabeu - also 1-0 on aggregate.
"Yes, of course it's the most important [goal] because the present is what's important," he told reporters.
"I have scored important goals in my career but what counts is now. This gives confidence. It was a great assist from Cristiano."
Diego Simeone's side finished the contest with 10 men after Arda Turan was sent off with 14 minutes remaining for picking up a second yellow card.
The reigning European champions will face Barcelona, Bayern Munich or Juventus in the last four.
