Borussia Dortmund centre-back Neven Subotic has insisted that the 4-1 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals did not flatter his side.
Subotic also refused to blame defensive partner Mats Hummels for his mistake that led to Real's goal and said that any errors are the team's, not the player's.
"I think the way we played makes it a fair result," Subotic told UEFA.com. "We created a lot of chances and defended well.
"We can't get too carried away because it's only half time in the tie. We have to go to Madrid and we know from experience that they're going to be a lot stronger than they were today.
"Before [Hummels's mistake] I didn't win my challenge with Luka Modric, so I'm also liable for the goal. The rule here is, if anybody makes a mistake it's the team's mistake and not the individual's. It's the same with the four goals we scored. Lewandowski didn't score four, the team did."
Dortmund travel to Real for the return leg on Tuesday night.
