Asmir Begovic happy with Stoke City stay

Asmir Begovic insists that he was right to stay at Stoke City despite reported interest from other clubs over the summer.

Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has insisted that he made the right decision by staying at the club.

The Bosnian international was linked with a move away from the Potters during the summer transfer window, with Arsenal and Liverpool both reportedly keen on his services.

"I'm happy because I stayed at Stoke City," he told Mundo. "I feel great here and I love my football here, but I can't hide the fact that it was nice to be linked with so many big clubs."

Begovic joined Stoke from Portsmouth in 2010.
