Conference outfit Forest Green Rovers have confirmed that they will investigate an incident before yesterday's home match against Grimsby Town where a visiting supporter appeared to be throttled by stewards.
The photograph below has emerged, showing stewards ejecting a Grimsby supporter from The New Lawn, seemingly because he brought in a large inflatable football.

In a statement today, Forest Green said: "[The club] accepts the photos of the incident do not make good viewing for a club that prides itself on being family-friendly and welcoming to away fans.
"The club are awaiting the post-match report from the stewarding company before we comment further on the incident."
Forest Green went on to win the match 2-1 against one of their fellow promotion hopefuls, cementing their place in the playoffs.
