Jurgen Klopp brushes off Daniel Sturridge behaviour

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp brushes off questions regarding Daniel Sturridge's hasty exit from the pitch at the full-time whistle of his side's 3-1 defeat to Swansea.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has brushed off Daniel Sturridge's hasty exit from the pitch following his side's 3-1 defeat to Swansea City this afternoon.

A weakened Liverpool side were well beaten at the Liberty Stadium, with Sturridge seeing his four-match goalscoring streak come to an end.

The 26-year-old has been left out of his side's biggest games in recent weeks and is rumoured to be considering leaving the club in the summer, and further questions were raised when he headed straight down the tunnel at the final whistle rather than shaking hands with the Swansea players and acknowledging the visiting fans.

"If somebody forgot to say something to the fans then it's my fault," Klopp told reporters.

"It is nobody else's fault. If you think we ignore the fans it's not what we wanted. I went too immediately.

"Hopefully our fans know how close we are to them. After a game like this if you want to leave, if you want to go... you want to rest and recover and do a lot of things."

Sturridge was an unused substitute during Liverpool's Europa League first-leg defeat at the hands of Villarreal in midweek.
