Liverpool have reportedly stepped up their interest in Atalanta BC midfielder Teun Koopmeiners.
Koopmeiners has continued to prove his worth since moving to Serie A from AZ Alkmaar in 2021, making a name for himself as a goalscoring midfielder.
The Dutchman netted 15 Eredivisie goals in his final season at AZ, and has since scored 11 in Serie A since moving to Bergamo, as well as notching his first international goal in the past year.
After the proposed interest in Jude Bellingham was ended, Liverpool have since been linked with numerous other midfield options, including Alexis Mac Allister and Nicolo Barella.
Corriere dello Sport claims that Liverpool are also rivalling Juventus for Koopmeiners's signature in the summer, with a fee of over €40m (£35m) being touted.
Liverpool are said to have taken the first steps in making a transfer happen, and Juventus are fearful of having to battle with the financial might of a Premier League club.
