Liverpool transfer news: Contact made over Brazilian teen, PSG competition for Thiago

Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Liverpool on Saturday, August 8.

Liverpool are enjoying a well-deserved break between seasons, but that has not stopped the rumour mill from linking the Premier League champions with numerous players.

Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren have so far departed Anfield, while Nathaniel Clyne was recently released, so new additions can be expected in the coming weeks.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Anfield.

Saturday morning's Liverpool transfer talk news roundup:

Liverpool 'make contact with Talles Magno'

Jurgen Klopp has another four years to run on his Liverpool contract and clearly has a long-term plan, with a number of youngsters being tipped to join the club this summer.

One of those teenage starlets is Vasco de Gama attacker Talles Magno, who has registered five goals in 10 appearances for Brazil at Under-17s level.

Magno also scored twice for Vasco in the Brazilian Serie A last year, seeing him catch the eye of some heavyweight clubs across the globe.

According to Yahoo Esportes, Liverpool have been in contact with the teenager's club and are hopeful of beating Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla to his signature.

Paris Saint-Germain 'meddling' in Liverpool move for Thiago Alcantara?

Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick confirmed earlier this week that midfielder Thiago Alcantara is looking to leave the club, with the Premier League his most likely destination.

Liverpool are considered the strong favourites to sign the Spain international, although Le 10 Sport claims that they now face stern competition from PSG.

The report suggests that Liverpool wanted to pay Bayern's asking price in instalments instead of an upfront fee, which has led to negotiations dragging on.

PSG are said to have tabled an opening bid of €30m (£27m), which could see them beat the Merseyside outfit to Thiago's signature.

Liverpool face competition over Aissa Mandi signing?

Real Betis defender Aissa Mandi is another player to have been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks, but Klopp's men may need to get a deal done quickly.

That is according to A Spor, as the Spanish outfit have supposedly already received an offer from Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

Mandi, who can play across the back four, is also believed to be a target for West Ham United.

The 28-year-old, capped 55 times by Algeria, has one year left on his Betis contract.
