Former England international Jermaine Jenas has expressed his belief that the signing of Wilfried Bony could result in Manchester City retaining the Premier League title this season.
The Ivorian, who scored more Premier League goals in 2014 than any other player, completed his move from Swansea City to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
Reflecting on the transfer, Jenas has insisted that Bony will provide the champions with something that they have been lacking in recent months.
"Wilfried Bony is a potentially title-winning signing for Manchester City. They have been searching for a player that can take the lead when Sergio Aguero is out injured or needs a rest," he told BBC Sport.
"In Bony, they have a striker who has been delivering in the Premier League for Swansea for enough time to prove he can do it and do it consistently."
The reported £30m man will play no part in City's clash against Arsenal this afternoon because of his commitments to the Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations.
