Manchester City have reportedly been joined by Bayern Munich in the race for Juventus full-back Joao Cancelo.
The 25-year-old is one of just a few players rumoured to be on Pep Guardiola's radar ahead of next season, when the Citizens will be looking to lift the Premier League for a third year in a row.
City are believed to have already met with Juve chiefs to discuss a move, with Maurizio Sarri sanctioning Cancelo's exit, but they now face late competition from Bayern.
Calciomercato reports that Guardiola's side have been reluctant to pay the £54m Juventus are after and Bayern are ready to pounce.
The German champions have already spent more than £100m on strengthening their backline this summer by bringing in French pair Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard, though they supposedly feel that more work is required.
