Manchester United defender Alexander Buttner is hoping that he will be given more starting appearances next season.

Alexander Buttner has revealed that he is keen to "play more games" for Manchester United next season.

Having signed on at Old Trafford from Vitesse Arnhem last summer, the 24-year-old left-back went on to feature 13 times in all competitions during the 2012-13 campaign.

However, when asked by Inside United what targets he has set himself ahead of the new season, the Dutchman replied: "To train hard again every day and I want to be better every day. Of course, I want to play more games. I'll go for that.

"My first season was good, like I have said, but I hope my second season will go better."

Buttner managed to score on two occasions during his 13 outings for the Red Devils.
