Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Arsenal could line up for Saturday's friendly against Manchester United.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been dealt another Leandro Trossard injury blow ahead of Saturday's friendly with Manchester United in New Jersey.

The Belgian shook off a knock in time to start Wednesday's 5-0 thumping of the MLS All-Stars, but he lasted just 56 minutes before being forcibly withdrawn with a knee problem.

Arteta does not expect Trossard to be on the treatment table for long, but the attacker has now been taken off early twice in the space of two friendlies and may benefit from a break at the weekend.

Oleksandr Zinchenko also sat out Wednesday's win as he recovers from his calf issue, while Reiss Nelson missed the trip to the USA due to a toe problem, but Thomas Partey and Emile Smith Rowe have belatedly joined up with the squad.

With Trossard surely not being considered for a start, Kai Havertz - who opened his Arsenal account at Audi Field - could now be brought in for his full Gunners debut, and the same can be said for Declan Rice.

The £105m signing was given a 30-minute cameo off the bench in midweek and may now enjoy 45 or 60 minutes from the first whistle, while Martin Odegaard has recovered from the injury that forced him out of the Nurnberg draw and could also return to the first XI.

Up top, Arteta has promised Folarin Balogun more minutes as speculation over his future heats up, and the USA international may be given the nod on home soil alongside Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

Further back, a first start could also come Jurrien Timber's way if William Saliba is granted a rest, while Gabriel Magalhaes, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kieran Tierney and Aaron Ramsdale all have good chances of completing a strong rearguard.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, Timber, Gabriel, Tierney; Odegaard, Rice, Havertz; Saka, Balogun, Martinelli
