Nice midfielder Kevin Anin has been brought out of the artificially-induced coma that he was put into following a car accident in Normandy last week.
The 26-year-old was travelling in a vehicle that overturned on the motorway, leaving him with multiple fractures and spinal injuries.
"He has woken up and is breathing on his own," the club's director general Julien Fournier told L'Equipe.
Anin was rushed to a hospital in Rouen, while the other three passengers in the car escaped unscathed.
