Rickie Lambert overjoyed with Southampton's win against Aston Villa

Rickie Lambert is overjoyed with Southampton's first Premier League victory of the season, a 4-1 triumph over Aston Villa at home.

Southampton striker Rickie Lambert was delighted with his side's victory over Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday.

The 30-year-old scored twice at St Mary's Stadium as Nigel Adkins's side mustered a 4-1 win, their first of the league season.

"Everyone knows who we have been playing," he told Sky Sports News.

"We're disappointed we didn't have at least three points but we weren't that far behind from where we thought we were going to be.

"We're just obviously made up we got off the mark today."

The win has lifted Southampton to 17th in the league table with three points from five matches.
