Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas believes that it was important for his side to respond following back-to-back defeats in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas feels that it was vital that his side responded to recent defeats in the Premier League as they beat Swansea City 2-1.

Goals from Jan Vertonghen and Gareth Bale were enough to secure the victory at the Liberty Stadium despite Michu getting a goal back for the Swans.

Villas-Boas told BBC Sport: "It was very important to bounce back after what happened in the last two games.

"It's a difficult ground to come to but a great win for us, and a great winning mentality from the boys."

The win moves Tottenham above Chelsea into third place in the Premier League.
