West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke has revealed that he is pleased with the way his midfield is taking shape.
New signing Claudio Yacob has been playing alongside Youssouf Mulumbu for the majority of pre-season.
Having watched the pair in action during a friendly encounter against Nottingham Forest, Clarke believes that the partnership is showing "a lot of promise".
"I thought they were good and controlled the midfield really well," said Clarke.
"Youssouf managed to break forward and get a shot away for a goal but, as a partnership, I thought they showed a lot of promise."
The Baggies open up the new season with a home match against Liverpool this weekend.
