Mikel Arteta hails Mesut Ozil impact

Mikel Arteta claims that Arsenal are starting to go in the right direction following the signing of Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid.

Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has claimed that the club is starting to go in the right direction following the signing of Mesut Ozil.

Ozil scored twice for the Gunners on Saturday as they went back to the top of the Premier League table with an emphatic 4-1 win over Norwich City.

"Signing Mesut makes a big statement," Arteta told the club's official website. "We have added to the squad. That tells you in which direction the club wants to go.

"It gives you great confidence when players are coming in. Psychologically, it is very different to when you see your best players leaving."

Arsenal return to Champions League action on Tuesday when they welcome Borussia Dortmund to the Emirates Stadium.
