Middlesbrough have reportedly agreed to sign Arsenal defender Calum Chambers on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old started in the Gunners' Premier League opener against Liverpool, acting as cover for Laurent Koscielny.
However, the England international was dropped to the bench for the last two league fixtures as Koscielny returned to partner Rob Holding in the centre of defence.
Arsenal's defence was hit with injuries in pre-season as both Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista are currently on the treatment table, but despite this, Chambers is unlikely to get many minutes due to the arrival of Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia.
According to Sky Sports News, Boro, who play alongside Arsenal in the top flight after earning promotion from the Championship in May, have agreed to sign Chambers on loan for the remainder of the season.
The defender joined the Gunners from Southampton in 2014 for a rumoured £16m fee, but has struggled to cement a regular spot in Arsene Wenger's first team.
