Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that Theo Walcott must be "completely committed" if he decides to sign a new deal at the Emirates.
The 23-year-old has been holding contract negotiations in recent months and has suggested that he will not rush to tie himself down to a new agreement.
"It is very important in our sport to be very committed to where you are and as long as you do not do that, you are not completely at ease," said Wenger.
"It is important for our squad as well that [Walcott] is completely committed. I do not doubt it, but as well at some stage it has to be concrete."
Walcott comes to the end of his current contract in the summer.
