Gerard Pique: 'We are still at top level'

Barcelona centre-back Gerard Pique denies claims that the Catalan outfit are no longer at their top level.

Barcelona centre-back Gerard Pique has insisted that the Spanish champions are "still playing at the top level".

The Catalan outfit have been criticised for their perceived change of playing style this season due to a number of below-par performances in recent months.

However, Gerardo Martino's side remain in the hunt for La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League in the latter part of the season.

"I think we're still playing at the top level," he told reporters at a press conference.

"If you look at the statistics, we've conceded the least goals in the League and scored the most – I think that says a lot."

Pique was in attendance earlier this afternoon when fellow centre-back Carlos Puyol announced that he will leave Barcelona at the end of the season.
