Gary Bowyer confirms rejected Jordan Rhodes bid

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer confirms that the club has turned down a bid for striker Jordan Rhodes from Middlesbrough.

Gary Bowyer has confirmed that Blackburn Rovers have rejected a bid from Middlesbrough for striker Jordan Rhodes during this summer's transfer window.

The Scottish international has been linked with a move to Aitor Karanka's side, with the Riverside club reportedly offering £12m for the 25-year-old.

The manager told BBC Radio 5 live: "Yes, Middlesbrough have been in touch, I think they've put some figures to our owners. Fortunately for myself and the rest of the lads, and of course our supporters, that bid has been rejected."

Rhodes scored 21 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions for Blackburn last season.
