Henri Saivet produced two assists to help Bordeaux claim maximum points from their home encounter against Rennes this evening.
Both sides struggled to create clear goalscoring chances during the opening 45 minutes, as neither goalkeeper was called into any telling action.
However, just six minutes after the restart Saivet created the first goal of the match. The young Frenchman crossed for Ludovic Obraniak, who shot left-footed into the net from close range.
The home side's lead was doubled in the 58th minute when Saivet cut the ball back for Landry N'Guemo. The former Celtic midfielder took one touch before sending the ball into the roof of the net from outside the area.
Bordeaux continued to dominate the remaining minutes, but they were unable to add to their tally.
