Andrew Surman has admitted that it was a relief to address the issues over his future by securing a move to Bournemouth on transfer deadline day.
The 28-year-old impressed during a loan spell with the club last season, but was forced to wait throughout the summer for his permanent switch from Norwich City to be completed as the two clubs battled over a deal.
"It's been a long process getting the deal done but I'm happy to be here," Surman told the club's official website. "From the end of last season through to this point it's been a little bit up in the air as to whether I would be staying or going.
"It was a tough time. I have been living in a hotel for the last eight weeks, not really sure where my future was lying.
"I knew that if I was going to leave, I wanted to come to Bournemouth because I enjoyed it here last year."
Surman is likely to return to action for Bournemouth against Rotherham United on September 13.
