Gary Neville has insisted that former teammate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has what it takes to lead Cardiff City to promotion next season.
Despite seeing his side suffer disappointment when relegation from the Premier League was confirmed on the weekend, Solskjaer has been backed as the right man to produce the perfect response when the club return to the Championship.
"Managers when they start off their careers are going to have setbacks and this will be a huge learning curve for him," Neville is quoted as saying by The Mirror. "But he will respond next season.
"What he does have is the players who have experienced the Championship and that will give them an edge in terms of getting back into the Premier League.
"Cardiff will get back and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will improve and get better as a manager out of the experience that he has had at the moment, even though he looked devastated at the weekend."
The Bluebirds will finish their first season in the Premier League by hosting Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
