Jose Mourinho: 'Chelsea are better than everybody else'

Jose Mourinho believes that Chelsea are "better" than every other team in the Premier League because they remain at the top of the table.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that every other team is currently inferior to his due to the standings in the Premier League table.

The Blues remain at the top, but their lead has tightened to just three points after Newcastle United ended Chelsea's unbeaten run with a 2-1 triumph at St James' Park on Saturday.

"We are top of the league," ESPN quotes Mourinho as saying. "Nobody has done better than us. Everyone would like to be in our position. So we are more than fine. We are better than anybody else.

"I don't say my team is the best, I say my team is top of the league and at this moment nobody has the same points we have - because of that at the moment we're the best team in the Premier League."

Chelsea will switch their focus to the Champions League when they take on Sporting Lisbon at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
