Jose Mourinho is desperate to put the Chelsea "family" back together following a difficult season last year.

Jose Mourinho has claimed that he wants Chelsea to be a "family" following the turbulent season the club endured under Rafael Benitez last season.

The Portuguese manager returned to Stamford Bridge this summer for a second spell, and he believes that it will be vital for the fans to enjoy a good relationship with the club's players this year.

"I want them to be with us as a blue family - a blue family that last year, at certain moments, looked like it was broken," Mourinho told The Sun. "I just want to put the family back together so I want them to support us all. I want the players to be supported, I want them to support Chelsea.

"I want them to be with us in good moments and bad moments, in cold weather and sunny weather, at home and away, when we are winning and losing."

Mourinho's second term begins when his side host Hull City on Sunday afternoon.
