Barcelona manager Xavi has reportedly contacted Ousmane Dembele with a phone call in a bid to persuade the winger to sign a new deal.
With his contract set to expire in just a matter of days, Dembele is set to depart the La Liga side as a free agent.
The expectation was that the Frenchman would leave the Catalan giants, with Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea linked with his signature.
However, Dembele has hinted that he would be open to staying at Camp Nou, while Xavi previously urged the club's hierarchy to make one last attempt to retain Dembele's services.
According to The Mirror, Xavi has recently spoken to the 25-year-old via a phone call in a final bid to keep the French international at the club.
Barcelona have reportedly offered Dembele a gross salary of €18m (£15.5m), but the former Borussia Dortmund player is looking to receive that figure after tax.
Despite playing 21 of 38 league games last season, Dembele topped the La Liga assist charts, helping his side finish in second place.
