Chelsea 'hold secret Jackson Martinez talks'

Chelsea allegedly hold secret talks with Jackson Martinez's agent about a January move for the Porto star.

Chelsea have reportedly held secret preliminary talks about a £30m January move for Porto star Jackson Martinez.

The striker's agent Henrique Pompeo flew to London for negotiations with Blues chairman Roman Abramovich's deputy Marina Granovskaia, The Mirror claims.

Porto are said to be willing to sell the Colombian international if they fail to progress from the group phase of the Champions League, a feat which requires an away victory at Atletico Madrid in their next outing.

Chelsea have also been linked with a move for Monaco striker Radamel Falcao, with Martinez thought to be in line as a backup option.

Martinez is under contract with Porto until 2016, and has a buyout clause of £35m.
