Chelsea recall Todd Kane from Bristol City loan spell

Chelsea recall midfielder Todd Kane from his loan spell with Bristol City.

Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill has revealed his disappointment after Chelsea recalled Todd Kane from his loan spell at the club.

Kane was expected to stay with Bristol for another fortnight, but Chelsea have taken the 21-year-old back to Stamford Bridge after recent reports suggested that the midfielder was a target for Nottingham Forest.

"Todd has been recalled by Chelsea and it has left a bit of a bad taste," Cotterill told the Bristol Evening Post.

"I would have liked the opportunity to keep him for a bit longer, but he is Chelsea's player and they can do whatever they want with him.

"I'll be looking for a suitable replacement, that's for sure, but I'll only bring someone in if I think they are good enough."

Kane played just seven times for Bristol after joining in November.
