Chelsea assistant Steve Holland has insisted that the club won't be active during the January transfer window.
The Blues have been linked with a world-record deal for Barcelona's Lionel Messi, but as well as dismissing the chances of signing the 27-year-old, Holland has revealed that manager Jose Mourinho has no plans to be involved in any transfer activity.
The 44-year-old told reporters: "Jose Mourinho has made it quite clear that nobody comes or goes.
"I recall he said something similar last year but a couple of things happened which meant we had to be reactive. The hope and expectation is that nobody comes or goes."
"When you look at some of the numbers mentioned around the Messi deal, you would think it is almost impossible."
Doubts over Messi's future have emerged after a reported conflict with current Barcelona coach Luis Enrique.
