Matthias Ginter says that he would rather wait to leave Freiburg than sit on the bench at another club.

Freiburg defender Matthias Ginter has insisted that playing first-team football at his current club would be more beneficial than moving to sit on the bench.

Ginter said that one day he plans to play for a top European side but at the age of 19 is currently enjoying his time at Freiburg.

"It's no secret to reveal I am longing to play for a top side from Europe one day in the future," Ginter told Bild. "I would be lying if I said any different.

"But at this point in time I am with Freiburg and I am really enjoying it here. It's the perfect place for me.

"At my age, there is absolutely no point in being stuck on the bench when I have a great chance to play first-team football at Freiburg. This is my club. I was born here."

Ginter has been linked with Arsenal this summer.
