Dimitar Berbatov has admitted that the trust shown in him by manager Martin Jol can inspire him to put in positive performances.
Bulgarian striker Berbatov linked up with Jol for the second time in his career towards the end of the summer transfer window when he joined Fulham from Manchester United.
Having failed to gain regular starting action under Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, veteran striker Berbatov has praised how Jol goes about getting the best out of him.
"If I feel the coach is trusting my ability then I can do special things on the pitch," he told reporters. "Now that I play for Fulham, I just want to show that I appreciate that they took me to the club. I know the coach, he trusts me.
"I feel good if the coach trusts the way I play and you saw that with the way I performed on the pitch."
Berbatov scored twice during his home debut for the Whites on Saturday afternoon.
