Joachim Low says that Bastian Schweinsteiger will play against Italy despite his poor form against Greece in the last round of Euro 2012.

Germany boss Joachim Low is expecting Bastian Schweinsteiger to prove his doubters wrong in the semi-finals of Euro 2012.

The Bayern Munich midfielder has received criticism from some areas of the media for his poor performance in the last-eight win over Greece, and was a doubt for the final-four clash with Italy due to injury.

However, Low says that he expects Schweinsteiger to face the Azzurri and to answer some of his critics in the process.

"Schweinsteiger had problems, but it's not as if these were hindering him," Low said. "Against Greece he was poor, but he realises that himself. Against Italy that won't happen.

"There are only 100% fit players. No player will run out if he is only operating at 80 or 90% capacity.

"All players are fit, I assume Schweinsteiger will play."

Should Germany overcome Italy, they will play Spain in the final of Euro 2012.
