Huddersfield Town have reportedly opened talks with Mainz 05 defender Leon Balogun ahead of a possible transfer at the end of the season.
The Terriers are still attempting to avoid relegation from the Premier League with the club only sitting three points above 18th-placed Southampton will three games remaining.
However, according to The Sun, head coach David Wagner is already looking to make signings ahead of the next campaign, regardless of what division Huddersfield will be placed in for next season.
Balogun is recognised as a centre-back but can also feature at right-back, and his versatility may aid a backline which has conceded 56 goals this season.
The 29-year-old - who is out of contract in June - has made 14 starts in the Bundesliga this season.
