Ipswich Town are reportedly close to landing Blackburn Rovers striker Luke Varney on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 32-year-old has failed to start a single game for Rovers this term, making just 14 appearances in all, although the East Anglian Daily Times claim that the Tractor Boys are keen to add the former Leeds United man to their books with fellow forward Noel Hunt out injured.
It is also suggested that Blackburn will not stand in the way of a move if a fee can be agreed between both parties.
Varney initially made his name as a player at Crewe Alexandra, before enjoying spells at Charlton Athletic, Derby County, Blackpool and Portsmouth.
A deal could be completed in time for the Englishman to feature in Ipswich's home match against Reading at the weekend.
