Robbie Fowler: 'Steven Gerrard can guide Liverpool to Premier League title'

Robbie Fowler believes that Steven Gerrard can inspire Liverpool to their first Premier League title this season.

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler has claimed that Steven Gerrard can guide the club to their first Premier League title this season.

Fowler believes that Gerrard's past experiences with the team means that he can inspire them to earn the results they need to finish ahead of their rivals in May.

"In the past, Stevie has inspired Liverpool in massive games like the Champions League Final," the 38-year-old is quoted as saying by The Mirror. "But you can't lift a team singled-handedly over a whole season.

"Now though, it isn't a whole season - they are just a few games away and in with a truly fantastic chance. So he'll know they can do it, especially with the firepower they've got. And he'll know he can lead them, inspire them. Maybe in two or three games, he can win the title for Liverpool."

Brendan Rodgers's team are second in the table with seven games remaining in their season.
