Liverpool to battle Tottenham Hotspur for Moussa Sissoko?

Liverpool are understood to have joined Tottenham Hotspur in the battle to sign Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko before the start of the season.

Liverpool have reportedly joined Tottenham Hotspur in the battle to sign Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko.

The France international still has four years left on his current deal with the Magpies, but it is understood that he is eager to join a club challenging for Champions League football.

Newcastle have valued the 25-year-old at around £16m, according to Mercato Foot.

Tottenham are thought to have already submitted a bid for the Frenchman, who arrived at St James' Park from Toulouse in 2013 for an undisclosed fee.
