Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has played down speculation that Pepe Reina could leave the club by declaring that he is his number one goalkeeper.
The 30-year-old has recently been linked with a move away from the Merseyside outfit, with Arsenal touted as being interested in acquiring his services.
The Spaniard has endured a difficult couple of years at Anfield, coinciding with the Reds' poor form, but Rodgers has backed his player to rediscover his best from.
"I want to make things 150% clear that Reina is the number one keeper for Liverpool," said Rodgers.
"Yes, he will admit himself he probably had a difficult couple of years, but he now has a sense that his best years are in front of him, not behind him."
Liverpool travel to Udinese in the Europa League on Thursday.
