Xavi: 'Pep Guardiola will change face of English game at Manchester City'

Barcelona legend Xavi is confident that Pep Guardiola will "change the face of English football" when he takes charge of Manchester City this summer.

Barcelona legend Xavi has claimed that Pep Guardiola will "change the face of English football" when he takes over at Manchester City this summer.

The Spaniard guided Barca to 14 trophies during his four-year spell in charge, and won seven pieces of silverware at Bayern Munich, where he has spent the last three years.

"It is a big opportunity for him at Manchester City," Xavi told sc.qa. "I think he will change the face of English football. If there is anyone capable of changing that mentality, it is Guardiola.

"It is a great opportunity but there will also be a lot of pressure, because everyone always expects a lot from Pep Guardiola, but he is without doubt one of the best coaches in the world at the moment."

Xavi, who was associated with Barca since the age of 11, joined Al Sadd last year.
